Why Choose Arete?
Arete Foods was born in San Diego, where burritos are a way of life — California, birria, and breakfast burritos for every occasion. Growing up here, that food felt normal, but hearing friends from other states talk about how they couldn't find anything like SoCal Mexican food made it clear how special it really is.
Standing in the frozen aisle, we went looking for a SoCal-style burrito made with simple, real ingredients — and realized it didn't exist. The choice was always the same: convenient but highly processed, or values-aligned but inconvenient.
Arete exists to close that gap by taking the burritos that define Southern California and remaking them with pasture-raised and grass-fed meats, no seed oils, and ingredients you'd actually cook with at home.
